The Mirror and the Sea, is a love story. It is born from a
poem that I wrote, which tells how lovers become a
reflection of oneself. What one feels, the other feels. The
desire for a kiss, longing, sadness... This love story
happens in Havana, of course.
It tells a tender theory, that lovers are reflections of
itself / From anywhere in the universe, say the stars, their
lights shiver with the same pattern / And they manage to
distinguish us in the middle of a sea of shadows. / When I
smile, you smile. When I look for you, you miss me. When I
name you, you find me. / I think of you under the moon and
you look at it. I think of you and you feel it. I think
about you and sometimes you think about me. / It happens
that both of us are restless at the same moments, for the
same reasons. / We never feel alone, that is a thing of
mortals. / They shine differently because they haven’t found
each other yet
