Hotel Habana is an artwork that took me almost a year to finish. I dreamed of creating a building as surreal as our city. I photographed balconies and portals in Old Havana and Downtown Havana and tried to digitally "weld" one photo to another, correcting cables, pipes, angles, and more, seeking, no longer a collage, but a building as real as possible. Sometimes, I stopped liking the idea and abandoned it. Then browsing on my computer I found it again and fell in love once again. People always think that the destination of Cuba is beaches, tobacco, and rum, but the real Hotel that will welcome you is Hotel Habana.
Hotel Habana es una obra que me llevó casi un año terminar. Soñaba con crear un edificio tan surrealista como nuestra ciudad. Fotografié balcones y portales de Habana Vieja y Centro Habana e intenté "soldar" digitalmente una foto con otra, corrigiendo cables, tuberías, ángulos y más, buscando, ya no un collage, sino una edificación lo más real posible. A veces, dejaba de gustarme la idea y la abandonaba. Luego navegando en mi ordenador volvía a encontrarla y caía enamorado nuevamente. Siempre se piensa que el destino Cuba son playas, tabaco y ron, pero el verdadero Hotel que te va a recibir es Hotel Habana.
